TENCEL™ Lyocell
Pure Botanic Collection
Fluidity and lightness, elevating comfort.
BOTANICAL ORIGIN
Botanically sourced (and vegan), Lyocell is sourced from wood pulp from certified and controlled, tightly managed forests. Grown without pesticides or irrigation, meaning the wood will not be over-harvested and will not cause land degradation, as certified by the international non-profit organizations for wood certification - FSC (Forest Stewardship Council®) and PEFC (The Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes™).
SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION
TENCEL™ Lyocell comes from a closed-loop, eco-friendly production process from which cellulosic fibers made from wood pulp are obtained, and requires much less energy and water than other natural fibers.
Made mainly from trees grown in sustainably managed forests, small wood chips are wrapped in an organic, non-toxic solution, which transforms the resulting pulp into a cellulosic paste. This is ejected under high pressure through a process called extrusion, to form the fiber, which resembles small fluffy, light and white clouds. Through the spinning process, the fiber gives life to TENCEL™ Lyocell threads with specific thicknesses and gives life to fabrics.
The result? Our ultra-soft and comfortable bedding, giving you the true feeling of sleeping on clouds, as well as the delicate rings of the terry cloth that make up our TENCEL™ Lyocell and Cotton bath towels, extremely soft to the touch and surprisingly high water absorbent.
Biodegradable, TENCEL™ Lyocell is also an excellent option to prevent unused fabrics from ending up in landfills or incinerators.
Discover the main steps to develop 100% TENCEL™ Lyocell
After obtaining wood from responsibly managed trees,
(1) it is processed into raw wood chips, which are
(2) transformed into cellulose and, finally,
(3) converted into TENCEL™ Lyocell cellulosic fibers, in a closed loop with high resource efficiency and low ecological impact.
How does it feel?
In bedding, it is a breathable fabric that efficiently absorbs moisture, making it unfavorable for bacteria and dust mites to grow. This also helps in regulating body temperature, keeping the sheets dry and pleasant to provide a very comfortable night's sleep. And after the bath? There will be no fiber that absorbs more water, at the same time with incomparable softness to the touch. The towel rings reveal the natural shine of the TENCEL™ Lyocell yarn, which has a delicate appearance, yet is highly resistant, even greater than cotton and other traditionally known fibers.
